"Do I need to send in my declarations at the end of the month?"
No, because each certificate's information is posted to the insurance database immediately - you don't need to spend any time at the end of the month on reporting.
"How do I put the shipper's name on the certificate, instead of mine?"
When insuring a new shipment select "Add New Shipper" from the drop down list prior to calculating the premium. Then fill in the requested information on the following page and click on "I accept".
"Do I have to type in the shipper information each time?"
No. If the shipper is a regular customer you need only type their information once into the database and check off the "Add Shipper/Insured" box. This customer information is saved as a template and will automatically appear in the shipper drop down list.
"What if the cargo is already in transit?"
Each mode of transport has a booking time frame. Ask your broker for the details. If it is beyond the time frame your request will be referred to the brokers for review.
"What does referral mean? Will the shipment be a referral each time"
When a rate request is submitted and it goes to referral, this means that Marsh Canada Limited will personally review the risk to assess it and contact you directly. There are many different reasons for a referral, such as the type of commodity being shipped, the destination and the value of the shipment amongst others. Repetitive shipments won't necessarily go to referral each time.
"When do I pay?"
If you are a 'CREDIT' client, Marsh Canada Limited will send an e-mail invoice on the first day of each month. 'PAY AS YOU GO' clients will be prompted to make a credit card payment with either Visa or MasterCard for each certificate, prior to being able to print each certificate. If you do not have a credit card, other arrangements can be made. Please contact your broker.
"How do I know that my information will be transmitted securely?"
CargoCover® uses a combination of unique user identification numbers, passwords, and industry-standard secure socket layer (SSL) technology with 128 bit encryption to ensure your information is well protected.
"I am not very familiar with computer software. Is CargoCover® easy to use?"

"What if I make an error in my certificate?"
Select the "Certificate Management" option; you then indicate which certificate number you would like changed. Once the certificate selected appears, click on the change button immediately above, and in the text field provided indicate exactly what changes you would like to have made and click on submit; the change/s will be forwarded to Marsh Canada Limited.
"How do I get a copy of the changed certificate?"
Marsh Canada Limited will provide an email notification when the appropriate change/s have been made. You can then reprint the certificate through the Certificate Management section using the original certificate number, and clicking on the reprint button immediately above.
"How do I print my certificates so that they fit on one page?"
Under "File" in your browser go to "Page Setup" and adjust your left, right, top and bottom margins to 0.25 inches or 5mm. To avoid any undesired text on the top or bottom of your certificate, we suggest you also remove all text or symbols that are in the header and footer section of your Page Setup.
"Sometimes the application is slow. Why is this?"
The speed of an application on the internet can depend on a broad variety of things. The type of computer equipment and software you are using can affect the speed of the application. For example, although you may use CargoCover® using Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer, you will find the application faster with the latest version of Internet Explorer (available from www.microsoft.com). The speed of the line is also a factor depending on whether you are using a 56K modem, ISDN, DSL or Cable connections. The Internet Services Provider (ISP) you use can also have an impact as different ISPs use different circuit routes. Some take longer than others.
